My favorite holiday? Thanksgiving! One day of food, family, laughing, and more food!
Believe it or not, holidays were just okay for me growing up. If you have read or heard my story, I grew up in a very emotionally chaotic household, and holidays were not always joyful. There were times when Barbies and toys were everywhere for Christmas 🎄 , and family hollered and laughed at a game of spades during Thanksgiving. 🦃 But there were holidays when uncomfortable emotions and chaos swirled everywhere. And then the New Year and we do it all over again.
We were the most functional, dysfunctional family out there. As an adult, I used those emotions as data and made the intentional choice to have more joyous holidays. How? Knowing Triggers, Setting Boundaries, and Responding vs. Reacting.
How can you do the same?
